Anniversary: George and Diana Vereecke 2009.09.30
George and Diana Vereecke recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
George Vereecke and Diana Fogelsong were united in marriage Sept. 26, 1959, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Fayette. George was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash., and they lived there until his discharge in 1961.
They have four children, Melony (and Alan) VanBrandt of Morenci, Jeff (and Karen) Vereecke of Adrian, Vandria (and Doug) Bower of Coldwater, Mich., and Tonia (and Dan) Hoffman, also of Morenci. They also have 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and are expecting two more. One granddaughter and a great-grandson are deceased.
Diana has always been a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. George was a journeyman sheet metal worker, a chemical operator at Parker Chemical, and he retired from Hydro Bohn Aluminum in 2002.
The couple celebrated with their entire family at Coldwater Lake in August; had dinner with family and friends at The Barn Restaurant in Archbold; and had dinner at the Lenawee Country Club with their children and their spouses followed by the performance of “Always, Patsy Cline” at the Croswell Theater in Adrian.
