Inoperable vehicles tagged in Morenci 7.1.09

No matter how many inoperable vehicles are removed from town, just wait a while. There are always more to follow.

Morenci police chief Larry Weeks said his department came up with a list of 38 inoperable/abandoned vehicles throughout the city in an annual concentrated effort undertaken last month.

Letters were sent to the people living at each property where the vehicles were found. Thirty-three of the vehicles have been either removed or brought into compliance with the city’s ordinance, Chief Weeks said.

The remaining five vehicles were tagged for removal.
