Morenci Garden Club members met in the annex at Stair Public Library last month. Nancy Salerno led the group in a craft project—painted windows that look like stained-glass windows.

On Dec. 2 the group met at the Congregational church for the annual civic fund raiser. To raise funds, each member brought a wrapped gift to the meeting. Jane Brasher-Garrow  and Joyce Woerner—acting as the club elves and  auctioneers—accepted members’ bids.  Club members have no idea what’s inside each wrapped gift.

The club raised $230 for the local Wishing Tree project, an increase from last year’s $188.

Officers for next year are Betsey Smith, president; Jo Erbskorn, vice president; Vicki Plummer, treasurer; and Renée Schroeder, corresponding secretary.
