DONKEY BASKETBALL—Fayette High School’s Parent Support Group is bringing donkey basketball back to town for a fund-raiser Nov. 6. The game will begin at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Proceeds from the game will be used to support the After-Prom event in the spring.
Junior class students and parents will ride donkeys, along with school staff members, alumni and other community members.
Tickets are available for $6 before the event at $8 at the door. Call 419/237-2556 or 237-2734 to obtain a ticket.
ELECTION DAY DINNER—It just wouldn’t be Election Day in Fayette without the annual meal served by the Women’s Ministries of the Fayette Christian Church.
The women’s group has served meals for years, said member Paulette Potts, to encourage voters to go to the polls and to raise money for various charitable projects.
Ham loaf or turkey is served, along with a variety of other menu items. Carryout meals are available by calling 419/237-2611, beginning at 11 a.m. when the doors open.
“It’s a wonderful meal, a great value and good conversation,” Potts said. “Besides, all the money goes to providing assistance in the community.”
FEATHER PARTY—Attention Bingo fans: This is your big weekend in Fayette.
The Gorham-Fayette Fire Department has scheduled its annual Feather Party in the high school gymnasium, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Bingo starting at 6 p.m.
Turkeys will be given away, along with door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and raffles.
Guests can purchase one ticket to allow unlimited Bingo games or they can pay for individual games. The final “coverall” game is not included in the unlimited ticket.
BLOODMOBILE—A Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fayette Church of the Nazarene, located at 511 S. Fayette St. in Fayette.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and provide a valid photo ID upon donation.
Blood collected from areas donors supports patient services at 23 Northwest Ohio hospitals.
