Fulton voters favor Clinton over Obama 3.12
Fulton County voters followed the state pattern of favoring Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama in last week’s primary election.
On the Republican side, Fulton County voters showed stronger support for Mike Huckabee compared to the state totals.
Clinton won popular vote totals by a 54-44 margin statewide and an even larger percentage in Fulton County, 61-37.
McCain won 60-31 throughout the state and 51-36 in the county.
In Fulton County, 6,680 people voted for Democratic candidates and 5,649 voted for Republicans.
In contested elections, representative Bob Latta out-polled Scott Radcliffe and Michael Reynolds 3,932 to 1,075 to 374 in the county and 53,401 to 12,215 to 5,756 in the district.
Scott Haselman defeated Paul Kennedy 2,697 to 2,425 in the race for Fulton County prosecutor.
Incumbents won two primary elections for county commissioner seats. Dean Genter defeated Daniel Bruner 2,598 to 2,431 and Paul Barnaby defeated Ivan Hite 3,219 to 1,994.
