Morenci students can earn college credit 6.20

Morenci Area High School students will be able to earn some college credits in the next school year without ever leaving town.

One program is arranged with Siena Heights University and another with Jackson Community College.

Articulation

Passing Morenci’s Advanced Placement (AP) composition class, taught by Heather Whitehouse, will lead to credit for Siena Heights University’s required English 101 class. To receive credit for the class, a student must enroll at Siena Heights within two years.

Interactive TV

Advanced mathematics students will have the opportunity to earn calculus credit through Jackson Community College. JCC’s Math 151 calculus class is transferable to many Michigan colleges, ranging from the nearby Adrian College to the University of Michigan.
