Morenci Garden Club members kept the downtown looking good all summer with the hanging baskets of flowers plus the large sidewalk containers that featured a variety of plants.

The hanging baskets are gone for the year, but the sidewalk pots have several weeks remaining, thanks to a donation by Pearl Phelps. Pearl bought a pot of mums for each container at the Garden Club's recent mum sale. Club members planted them and the downtown now has a new look for the fall.

The appearance will get even better as area organizations and businesses adopt a light pole for the Morenci Area Chamber of Commerce's annual light pole decorating contest.
