2010.10.27 Leon Shulters: The state of things
This is my opinion of the mess the United States is in today.
The middle class wages have been stagnant for years. Jobs are going overseas by the thousands. I blame both parties, Democrats and Republicans.
This mess in the United States did not just start. If you will notice, the news media will never mention the loss of jobs gone overseas. Evidently, the politicians do not want the American public to know the real trouble we are in. Our overpaid economists will tell you how great our economy is.
Inflation is still going up. Low wages, high cost of living, gas prices are up, and as for the big three automotive companies, they have been using foreign made parts for years. After the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) bill was signed into law, it opened the door for more foreign made parts to be shipped into our country. More jobs were lost. Both parties—Democrats and Republicans—are guilty of the NAFTA bill.
I get a big kick when two top Republicans, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, cry Obama is raising taxes and losing jobs. Republicans say we can’t afford it, running the country deep into debt. The Republicans seem to forget they had eight years of full control of the country.
When we had a financial collapse, the Bush administration created two wars, ran the country deep into debt and paid out the first $350 billion of the stimulus money to big businesses. Obama froze Social Security for two years, claiming inflation was under control. I don’t think so.
A large number of overpaid personnel in the country are slowly running our country deeper in debt. Bureaucrats, education, advertising industry and celebrities. The pay structure in our country is way off balance.
Explain to me why, with our supposedly highly educated politicians, our country keeps going deeper in debt.
