On Thursday, May 29, our gentle and beloved female German shepherd was shot with a .22 caliber shotgun. She escaped her kennel, but had her collar on with our telephone number on it along with all necessary tags. She did not deserve such cruelty.
The offender could have called us to come and get her; they could have shooed her away; they could have called the dog warden. Instead, they chose to inflict tremendous yet needless pain on our dog and our family. It is folks just like the shooter(s) who help give the NRA a “black eye.”
We moved to the country from the city. We thought such odious and inhumane behavior only existed in the city; we were wrong. We hear Wal-Mart has a two-for-one sale on compassion and consciences. We suggest they rush out and buy some.
