“Last year at this time, I was laying in a hospital bed hearing the words ‘you have cancer’. And when you hear those words it changes who you are emotionally, physically. And in every way, it’s a strengthening experience more than anything.
Through it all, I’m still the same kid. I give smart remarks, probably more often than I should. But it’s really bonded my family; brought the community very close. Seeing how strong and close a family and a community can be. It’s just really inspiring and I want to thank you all for coming out and really supporting me through it all.”
