2009.04.01 Sandy Davis: Trailer controversy continues

Written by David Green.

Hearing number four on April 13, 2009, Medina Township against Jeff Davis’s trailer, Lenawee County Court (sent back from Michigan State Court of Appeals) with a new lawyer and a new judge. This property has always been kept up and the taxes diligently paid, not bothering anyone around.

Then we have a mega dairy refusing to pay penalties put on them for polluting land, air and water for thousands and for generations to come, but they are rewarded permission to add 2,000 more cattle and four times the pollution so they can make enough money to pay the penalties. It’s like letting a bank robber out of jail to rob four more banks to make enough money to pay his penalties. Where is the logic?

Are all the 100+ trailers at the campground next? They have porches, decks and storage sheds that are seemingly permanent, and some aren’t moved for years.

Medina Township board meets on the northeast corner of Lime Creek and Ingall the first Monday of the month.
