Monday morning, no front page photo, what to do? Head for a school physical education class and hope that something interesting is going on.

In this week’s print edition:

  • Two Morenci school employee groups agree to a wage freeze and an early retirement option.
  • Morenci’s lighted parade is scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday. This year the after-parade activities will be indoors in the fire hall.
  • There are still some stars to take home through the Morenci Kiwanis Wishing Tree program.
  • Morenci Senior Center director Sarah Weeks occasionally hears comments and questions about whether or not the center is open. It is, and it’s open for any area person 60 years or older.
  • Rich Foley writes about the old box of donuts again and David Green recalls an oil spill in his kitchen.
  • Ballet Folklorico will appear at Fayette’s Opera House Saturday.
  • The Fayette library has its own Wishing Tree for patrons to help with needed items.
  • Morenci library’s annual Fantasy Village project is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the talk about homelessness in Lenawee County begins at 7 p.m. tonight.
  • Feature stories include a report of Morenci’s Community Halloween Dinner, shopping in Indonesia (with a Morenci connection) and a middle school recipe project.
  • There’s plenty more to see and read. Get a subscription and see it all.
