I think I was further behind this week when I didn’t take a mini-vacation than the previous week when I did. At 40 minutes past deadline, we completed a pretty good print edition of the Observer.

Included are these items:
• Morenci’s school board report, including the hiring of Ashley (Garrow) Joughin as a middle school mathematics teacher.
• George Isobar’s weather report, including his observation that July has been chilly for many of the past dozen or so years.
• An update on Morenci’s all-school reunion, including mention of plans to honor the old Letterman’s Club members.
• Colleen Leddy’s report on piles of dirty dishes and David Green’s discovery of black garlic.
• A belated Fayette council story about grant and loan possibilities.
• An update on the Quiznos video shot in Morenci in June.
• A report on the Morenci Sportsmen’s Club’s 50th anniversary celebration.
• And lots of photos from library programs, the Bull Thistle Festival and a baseball tournament

There’s your overview. Get a subscription and see the rest.
