Tiffin River Wildlife Area

I was moving across a map to a new geocache in the area and I notice a green blotch called the Tiffin River Wildlife Area. It seems as though I would know about this place, but I’ve never heard of it. There’s no information that I can find about it other than a map.

Actually it’s places with an “s.” Three spots: 219 acres, 126 acres and 120 acres, starting at the intersection of Fulton County Roads 22 and L, east of Zone, and then skipping to the southwest to Route 66 between J and L and then south of J between 66 and 66, so to speak.

I wonder if they’re all underwater.

Hey, thanks for the reminder about this place. I’ve seen it on maps a few times, but it has always been just a bit far away and too fragmented to get me to actually drive there to check out hiking possibilities.

But I’m always up for someplace new. It might have some nice river bluffs and there look to be some dikes in there that could be walkable. And 500 acres is a nice-sized collection of land. Could be interesting. I’ll have to do some research to see if there are any other interesting parks in that general area.

I was driving to Archbold today when I suddenly realized I was about to pass the first of those three areas. I knew the area well; I’ve driven past dozens of times. Whether or not I’ve noticed the Tiffin River Wildlife Area sign in the past, I’m not really sure.

That first parcel is a frequent flooder. I’m not sure about the other two.

Good to hear from you again, Erie Hiker. It’s been a while.

Woodland Park is 60 acres, but seems to have some athletic fields.

    How about this one:

Beaver Creek Wildlife Area near Bryan:

Fulton Pond Wildlife Area. Looks to be a .75 mile loop walk with more if there are wooded trails:

Delta Reservoirs. Look like a two mile figure-eight loop:
