Honest, Coach McDowell is actually very happy here. Morenci 34, Hudson 28, ending a long Hudson win streak in regular-season games plus a long win streak against Morenci. I don’t even keep count anymore it’s been so long.

What a great boost of morale for the school and city! Besides outstanding coaching and play, the band and cheerleaders and crowd all made for a very exciting night. We’ll be talking about this for a long time!
Last Morenci win over Hudson was 2001. Last regular season loss by Hudson 2008.
Last night’s win was even more significant than that. True, Morenci was declared the winner in 2001, but we certainly didn’t beat Hudson that night. Anyone remember what I’m referring to?
Who goes for it on 4th and 10 from the ten when you’re only down by 1? Dawgs. And what was that pass from Merrilat for the win? 40 yards in the air while scrambling? A sophomore? To say nothing of the catch.
