Don't worry; it's hidden from the neighbors

Don't worry; it's hidden from the neighbors

Morenci art teacher Heidi Drake created this piece from found objects and hung it on the back of her house. Look for a lawnmower muffler, TV tubes, pool balls (displaying symbolic numbers) an old wooden croquet ball, wooden golf clubs, hub caps, serving bowls, jello molds, tart tins, a cultivating wheel, aluminum cans, washers and more. Her husband and daughter collaborated on the project. Heidi says the project was inspired by Tyree Guyton.

By the way, the piece is titled “Light Year.” Imagine the night sky. Look for the comet.
