Snowfall

Who’s going to believe George Isobar if he says we received only 5.8 inches of snow? I just shoveled more than a foot off my sidewalk. Of course much of that is courtesy of the city snow plow and most is from drifting. The plow throws stuff almost to my porch. Here’s Isobar’s tale:

Melted down, it measured 0.77 inches. As a general principle, that could have produced about 7.7 inches of snow, but this stuff was heavy and some of it was little ice grains and there was also glaze on my car windshield. So it didn’t produce 7.7 inches. Isobar said he has a snowboard (no, not that kind) where he’s supposed to measure the fresh stuff, but it was drifted level with the rest of the yard, which measured an average of about 8.2 inches. And we had about six inches before the store. So his guess is 5.8.
