Rural population

A study by the Carsey Institute finds that the population decreases in rural areas has slowed from 2000 to 2010. Lenawee County is coded in the 0-5% growth category which surprises me considering the loss of students in most county districts in recent years. The study also found that diversity is growing.

Diversity accelerated in rural America, with racial and ethnic minorities accounting for 83 percent of rural population growth between 2000 and 2010.
