Special Agent in Charge Andrew G. Arena announces a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered by Southern Michigan Bank & Trust for information leading to the identification, arrest, prosecution, and conviction of a serial bank robber.
The FBI, Michigan State Police, Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office, Coldwater Police Department, and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office are looking into the possibility that the serial bank robber is responsible for committing the below-listed robberies in south-central Michigan:
1. United Bank and Trust, Manitou (Lenawee County) – November 20, 2009 (Attempt);
2. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, North Adams (Hillsdale County) – February 17, 2010;
3. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, North Adams (Hillsdale County) – November 22, 2010;
4. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Coldwater (Branch County) (Attempt) – December 21, 2010
5. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Camden (Hillsdale County) – November 22, 2010;
6. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Coldwater (Branch County) (Attempt) – August 8, 2011;
7. Century Bank & Trust, Coldwater (Branch County) – August 8, 2011; and
8. Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Tekonsha (Calhoun County) – September 9, 2011
The suspect is a white male, approximately 6’0″ tall, with an average build. The suspect has worn camouflage clothing during hunting season to disguise his appearance and on the other robberies he wore a vinyl Halloween mask, possibly an Al Gore and Barak Obama presidential masks. (see attached pictures) The suspect has used a black semi-automatic pistol during the course of the robbery and is presumed to be armed and dangerous. The getaway vehicle is described as a white 4-door passenger car with a gray or black strip along the bottom.
