No garlic with turkey

A seasonal message from Anthony Bourdain:

His turkey advice: cook the legs separately and use a massive amount of butter. Who else but Bourdain would drop lines like “Dismembering a turkey is much like dismembering a human actually, you just find the little space between the bones. Don’t need no power saw.” and “Garlic, by the way, never anywhere near turkey. Christmas turkey with garlic in it makes me want to kill Santa.”

Video here.

  • Feathers: And while we’re on the topic of feathers, here’s video showing a homemade chicken plucking machine. Great Christmas gift idea.
  • Pasta:If pasta is truly the national food of Italy, trouble may lie ahead. Warming temperatures threaten the country’s duram wheat crop:

In a report to be released by the Met Office tomorrow, scientists predict that Italy’s durum yields will start to decline from 2020 and the crop will almost disappear from the country later this century.
