When a snowstorm is approaching, it’s always fun to compare the forecast for Morenci and for Fayette. We’re so far away from one another. Currently, the National Weather Service says 6 to 10 inches for Fayette and 5 to 11 inches for Morenci. And in both cases, maybe an inch before daylight Tuesday and maybe another inch on Wednesday. Sounds exciting, no matter which side of the border you reside. It will be exciting for me when I attempt to drive to Adrian tomorrow afternoon to fetch my newspapers.
NEW ORLEANS: I heard an NPR interview this evening in which the guy in charge of trash collection in New Orleans’ French Quarter was interviewed about cleaning up after the Super Bowl celebration. I actually felt a little embarrassed for the reporter when she inquired how the trash differed from Mardi Gras. It began to seem like an interview that never needed to be made. The answer, by the way, was fewer beads Sunday night.
But then it all became worthwhile when the cleaner man was asked what it smelled like Monday morning. “Vomit, beer…”

Weather Underground says:
Fayette: 9 to 10
Morenci: 6 to 9
AccuWeather:
5 to 10 for both locations
Still the same thing this morning: Morenci could get both less and more snow than Fayette, according to the NWS. At 7:30 Tuesday morning, 1.4 inches had fallen, a little more than the prediction of up to an inch by morning.
