The Toledo Blade is reporting this:
A man apparently drowned in a pond after he dived off a floating dock Sunday night at Green Valley Campground just west of this Lenawee County community, authorities said.
Michael Morris, 24, of Morenci, was pronounced dead at the scene after area divers recovered him from the pond about 1:40 a.m. Monday, about five hours after he was last seen alive, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office. The official ruling on the cause of death is pending investigation.
Witnesses told sheriff deputies Mr. Morris was last seen about 8:30 p.m. Sunday doing a front flip off the floating dock in the pond, which is about 100 yards long, 40 yards wide, and about 14 feet deep, sheriff deputies said.
Rescue teams arrived a short time later and located the man west of the floating dock, according to the sheriff’s office.
