The Philippines’ Mayon Volcano is now rated No. 4 on the “watch out!” scale. At No. 5, an eruption is already underway:
The Philippines is situated in the so-called Ring of Fire, an arc of fault lines circling the Pacific Basin that is prone to frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Mayon’s most violent eruption, in 1814, killed more than 1,200 people and devastated several towns. Its last major eruption was in 1993. Since then, it has remained restless, emitting ash and spewing lava.
Food art: I think I

might have linked to Carl Warner’s wonderful food art photos in the past. I just read that he has a book deal to show off his work. Take a few glimpses here. The first square on the left takes you to the food art show. It’s deliciously good.
Cheese or Font?: Here’s an odd game for people familiar with the names of typefaces. It’s simple: A name is displayed and you choose whether it’s the name of a cheese or a font by clicking on it. Based on my limited experience there, you will likely receive a message telling you that you’re incorrect, that it really is a cheese.
