Bibles for Haiti

Reuters reports that 600 solar-powered Bibles have been sent to Haiti by the Faith Comes By Hearing group. The message is delivered in Creole:

With tens of thousands of Port-au-Prince residents living outdoors because their homes have collapsed or they fear aftershocks from Tuesday’s quake, the audio Bible can bring them “hope and comfort that comes from knowing God has not forgotten them through this tragedy,” the group said on its website.

And as an extra ray of hope for the hungry, devastated flocks, the group says that the Bible would even play on the Moon.

BED WARMERS: No, it’s not the Onion, it’s Reuters again. Holiday Inn is offering human bed warmers in the UK. A staff member will dress in a special one-piece outfit and warm your bed before you get in it:

Holiday Inn said the warmer would be fully dressed and leave the bed before the guest occupied it. They could not confirm if the warmer would shower first, but said hair would be covered.

A NATURAL WONDER: From TreeHugger, with a slideshow to explain it all:

The world’s largest volcanic island is on a lake, on a larger island, on a larger lake, on another (bigger) island.
