Morenci was given a fourth-quarter touchdown, the score went on the scoreboard, then the B-D coach rushed onto the field to complain and the touchdown was taken away. They decided Cody Powell stepped out of bounds on the one-yard line. B-D moved 99-2/3 yards to win, 20-15. I suppose they deserved to win for that. Morenci had another chance and couldn’t get it done.

I didn’t mention Morenci’s turnovers. One interception and three lost fumbles, or was it four? I’ll have to check my notes.
Maybe the way this turned out is the best. B-D makes the playoff and perhaps the Bulldogs will squeeze in with only five wins. There seems to always be a team or two with a 5-4 record that makes it in among the state’s smallest schools – which is where we are now.
