Our Congressman Tim Walberg made national news this week, but not in a very flattering way, in my opinion. In his opinion, I’m sure it was fantastic. Washington Monthly writer Steve Benen is pleased that the nonsense about Obama’s birth certificate has mostly gone away – mostly, but not with Walberg. Our man in Washington recently said:
Regardless of whether the license that he showed is true or fake, I’ve not seen it other than what was portrayed in the news.
I would like to have that question finally answered as much as anybody else, yet it takes my eye off the ball of all that I have to do.
Benen says:
Remember, Tim Walberg is not some deranged man yelling on a street corner; he’s an elected member of Congress. Even with most Birthers slinking away months ago, here we have a federal lawmaker arguing in public that that reality may be fake and the bizarre conspiracy theory may be true, even if all of the evidence says otherwise.
He also points out that Walberg suggested last year that the President should be impeached if he won’t produce a birth certificate (which he did do). I wonder what Tim thinks about the birth notice in the Hawaii newspaper all those years ago. Was that part of the conspiracy to hide the truth about Obama’s birth so that years later when he became president….

Tim, years ago, probably would have been a leader of the Tea Party. Like most of the individuals currently on his side of the aisle, spouts the same things over and over with absolutely no substantiation whatsoever. This particular situation is a bit different, however. Whereas most of those original birthers have let go of the birth certificate issue, Timmy knows that in Teabagger County, the idea still plays up very well. He’s obviously playing to the crowd–not even taking into consideration how stupid it makes him look.
So you think Tim isn’t a Birther, he’s only doing it for votes?
