Newt Gingrich was asked to explain the support for health care reform by many religious leaders. Easy answer; they’re socialists bums:
A lot of religious leaders who come out of basically a socialist background. They don’t create wealth. They don’t create jobs. They in fact redistribute wealth and so from their perspective this is just one more opportunity to redistribute — this is sort of compulsory charity, what we used to call taxes.
Gingrich is worried the United States will become a “successful secular state.” As Think Progress points out, it’s been a secular state ever since the Bill of Rights was passed.
