But is it really fear or is it intolerance? Or is fear being used by those with loud mouths and fat wallets to instill fear and intolerance?

Primarily intolerance–sometimes built in from birth. If fear is involved regarding “other Americans, other religions, other classes, other nations”, then it is because we are an uninformed people. We fear that which we do not understand so instead of becoming learned (learn-ed) from legitimate sources, we lazily rely on others telling us the facts–whether or not they’re true. Much of this stuff is the basis for the crappy, full-of-prevarications emails that come through daily.
