Picking pancakes

pancakes.picker.jpg
Pancakes by the thousands, untouched by human hands. Click right here for an exciting video of the pancake picker. Eat Me Daily says this:

Humans used to stack the pancakes by hand, but in a bid to reduce labor costs, HoneyTop Pancakes switched to a robot solution from ABB Robotics. In their machine, pancakes on a conveyor belt are fed into an enclosure where the insect-like Flexpicker robots grab and stack the pancakes at a truly astonishing speed, at over 400 per minute!

  • A Dallas Morning News writer isn’t pleased with the offerings at the new stadium:

The new Yankee Stadium has a high- end steakhouse and great barbecue. Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets, has some of the city’s best burgers and excellent Brooklyn beer. The Dallas Cowboys’ $1.15 billion football arena has Frito pie.

Maybe the guy isn’t a Texas native. He didn’t like chewy gray burger, either.

  • Mount Ranier has shown a little seismic activity lately. At least that’s what some scientists think. It’s in a population area of about 3 million people, so it’s something pay attention to. Greg Laden has an overview of the mountain here and Eruptions will satisfy your general volcanic needs in many ways.
