NOW I UNDERSTAND: A Utah state legislator explains the truth behind the climate change hoo-hah. It’s all a conspiracy to control population:

But Noel defended the “conspiracy” wording, pointing to an out-of-print textbook, Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment , written in the 1970s by biologist Paul Ehrlich, Ehrlich’s wife, Anne, and physicist John Holdren about the potential hazards of unchecked population.

“Now, if you can’t see a connection [of a conspiracy] to that,” the legislator said, “you’re absolutely blind to what is going on. This is absolutely — in my mind, this is in fact a conspiracy to limit population not only in this country but across the globe.”

MORE DOUBLE-TALK: There’s a growing list of politicians who think Pres. Obama’s stimulus funds are among the most egregious act committed against the American people—and voted against them—and then show up to boast how they brought federal money home when some stimulus funds arrive. Here’s a little different twist from South Carolina’s governor, Mark Sanford. Sanford has likened the federal funds to slavery and fiscal child abuse, but:

Gov. Mark Sanford flew to Washington on Thursday to tell the Obama administration that South Carolina wants $300 million in federal stimulus money.

Sanford, who spent much of last year fighting parts of the Obama administration’s stimulus plan, now wants S.C. to have a piece of $4 billion in “Race to the Top” education money.

  1. contrarian says

I’ve seen a couple of your posts where you infer that to accept federal money for something you voted against was somehow hypocritical. I have a contrarian viewpoint. I see nothing hypocritical about pursuing funds that are already signed into law.

I hope our elected lawmakers vote against approving such spending practices but with equal conviction believe they should pursue funds for their local districts if funds are already approved.
