I saw that yesterday on C-Span and all I could think of was, “thank God I no longer live in Illinois”.

I don’t give a rat’s derriere that he PERSONALLY believes this. What really ticks me off is that he doesn’t feel one iota of obligation to simply TRY to do those things that might help the issue of climate change. His and other like-minded comments are prime examples of abject arrogance–something Shimkus has been good at for a number of years.
