It works for the Prius

The Toyota Prius generates electricity for its hybrid system every time the brakes are applied. The first hybrid locomotive is now hauling passengers in Germany, from Aschaffenburg to Miltenberg. The route has 14 stops in 22 miles—plenty of opportunities to recharge batteries through regenerated braking power.
