The BP Oil Spill problem can be resolved with basic schoolboy science…anyone who has tried to attach a garden hose to a tap (faucet)when the water is running will tell you it’s impossible because of water pressure, but in reality that is what BP has been trying to do over the last few weeks. Taking a traditional heavy engineering view when a much lighter touch or construction is called for.
Many from engineers of one sort or another. One from a plumber. One from “I’m just a simple carpenter.” One from the former prime minister, but that was probably left in for humor. I suppose many have ideas that just won’t work deep under the ocean, but it’s very interesting reading.

Maybe they could use that stretchy tape they keep advertising on TV for repairing any leak.
