The newspapers in those two communities are part of Brown Publishing, a company that just filed for bankruptcy protection:
Newspaper publishers Brown Media Holdings Co. and Brown Publishing Co. have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy relief and plan to sell their assets in 10 states to a bidder the companies have chosen.
The Cincinnati-based, family-owned businesses filed Friday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, asking for approval of $2.5 million in financing to help the companies through bankruptcy.
An unnamed bidder will assume a “substantial portion” of the properties.

Brown Publishing is much bigger organization than I thought it was.

Sounds like an opportunity to expand the empire David. That’s just the capitalist in me talking.
But I have too much to do already. To expand would mean hiring people and then I’d have to serve as a boss. I’d rather write and take photos.
