Calvin Teal collecting info about U.S. 20 businesses 8.1

Twin Curves, White City, Wagon Wheel, Heberger’s, Powers Station, Mann’s Corners, Five Acres, Trading Post and Starlight.

Calvin Teal knows there are a lot more restaurants and businesses along U.S. 20 that no longer exist. He keeps hearing stories about these establishments and he hasn’t even asked yet about Morenci and Fayette.

“It’s getting overwhelming,” he said. “I’m hearing about so many and I haven’t even strayed too far from Lyons and Oakshade.”

Before it’s over, he will have covered the entire stretch of U.S. 20 from Assumption to Fayette, and all of State Route 120 from Metamora to Munson.

And when he’s finished, he will have written a book filled with photos and stories of the past.
