It’s the 48th year for the annual Lyons Chicken Barbecue.

The first event kicks off at 9 p.m. Friday night when a DJ provides music until 1 a.m.

Serving at the park shelter begins at 11 a.m. Saturday for chicken dinners, served by John “6” Linehan and crew. The festival parade follows at 1 p.m.

From 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., a variety of inflatable games will be scattered across the park for kids. Refreshments will be sold at the park concession stand.

A softball tournament for men’s and coed teams starts Thursday and winds up Sunday.
