City council Monday approved a three-year trash removal bid with Archbold Refuse Service (ARS), the only bidder. The price includes an estimate of 80 tons of trash for each of two annual pickups, scheduled during the first and third year of the contract.

ARS representative Chris Cote said the company was surprised when 80 tons was collected during the last annual collection because the amount is far above the average.

His bid covers the cost for another 80-ton removal, but a rebate will be given to the city if the amount is smaller.
