Evelyn I. Elarton, 88, of Cawley Road, Morenci, died April 16, 2007, at Tendercare of Adrian.

She was born March 23, 1919, in Fulton Township, Ohio, the daughter of Loren and Maude (Sheffer) Gamble. On Oct. 4, 1938, she married Earl Elarton, and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a homemaker who lived in the Fayette and Morenci areas most of her life.

Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Karen (and Larry) Kast of Morenci; three sons, Lynn Elarton and Dennis Elarton, both of Morenci, and Larry (and Bonnie) Elarton of Munson; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Alan; two grandsons, Lindsay Kast and Patrick Green; and four sisters, Marie Gamble, Edith Fruchey, Thelma Woodruff and Gartha Smith.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with grandson, Pastor Nathan Elarton, officiating. Burial will follow in Peasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
