An all-terrain vehicle accident Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of a 19-year-old woman.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident that occurred near the Dean Nofziger residence, 9732 County Road 19 in Dover Township, northwest of Tedrow.

Rescue personnel were called to the scene at 12:43 p.m. after a Honda ATV overturned in a bean field. Clarissa Short, 19, a passenger on the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. The driver, Justin Nofziger, 11, was transported by  medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet.
