A Fayette senior is among five contestants competing for the Fulton County Junior Fair Queen. Kalley Martin, 16, is a nine-year member of 4-H. She has shown horses, rabbits, dairy heifers and cows. In school, she has participated in volleyball and cheerleading. Other contestants are Ashley McGilvery, 18, of Delta. She has participated in 4-H for two years and has shown horses, pigs, and various other projects through FFA. Janice Stasa of Swanton, is an eight-year member of the Goats and Udder Things 4-H club. She has had projects in flower gardening, market and breeding rabbits, market hogs and dairy feeder calves. Joyce Stasa, 17, also a member of Goats and Udder Things, has been a member for nine years. Her projects include cooking, sewing, rabbits, feeder calves and steers. She was also the Beef Queen last year. Katie Weber of Pettisville High School will show a market hog this year at the fair The 2008 queen will be crowned at 4 p.m. Aug. 30, on the free entertainment stage at the fairgrounds. |
