Stores cited for alcohol sales 6.11

Seven Fulton County stores were cited during alcohol compliance checks by the Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU), a division of the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

During the procedure, a trained informant under the age of 21 attempted to purchase alcohol while an officer from the OIU waited in an outside area away from view of those inside the store.

The purpose of the check is to ensure that local retailers with liquor licenses are requiring proper identification. This prevents the sale of alcohol to those under the age 21, in compliance with the law.

The checks were conducted in conjunction with the Fulton County Family and Children First Council’s Parents Who Host, Lose the Most campaign.

Those cited were:

• Fayette, Circle K, 200-204 E. Main St. and C & J Carryout, corner of US 20 & St. Rt. 108;

• Archbold, Oasis Car Mart, 1200 Stryker St.; S and S Express, 1500 S. Defiance St,; and Nu Arch Lanes, 1010 S. Defiance St.

• Delta, Country Corral, 7910 St. Rt. 109;

• Metamora, Joe’s Tavern, 121 Maple St.
