William E. Head, 85, of N. Park Street, Fayette, Ohio, died June 7, 2006 at Harborside Healthcare in Bryan, Ohio.

He was born Feb. 6, 1921 in Wauseon, Ohio, to Clifford and Amanda (Taylor) Head. He married Doris A. Walker in Angola, Ind., on Oct. 24, 1942, and she survives.

Bill was a lifelong farmer. He retired from Fayette Tubular Products in 1986 with more than 25 years of service.

Besides his wife, Bill is survived by two daughters, Connie Meadows of Wauseon and Karen Lavinder of Fayette; one son, Gary (and Lynda) Head of Fayette; two sisters, Kathryn Borton and Helen Huston, both of Morenci; one brother, Clifford (and Lorraine) Head of Friendswood, Texas; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Phyllis Kibbee; one brother, Stanley Head, and two sons-in-law, Carl Meadows and Jerry Lavinder.

Memorial services are planned at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette with Pastor Laura Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gorham Fayette Fire and Rescue or Hospice of Williams and Fulton counties.
