Candidates have until May 13 to file 5.7

Townships residents interested in running for office have until Tuesday, May 13, to file a petition with their township clerk.

Medina Township clerk Suzette Burk reports that all four incumbents have filed for another term in office. Supervisor Jim Craig, treasurer Ruth Ann Mansfield and trustees George Cleghorn and Jack Quigley have all filed petitions, along with Burk.

In Seneca Township, supervisor Kiel Plummer has decided not to seek another term. After seven years on the job, Plummer said he’d like to devote more time to his own activities. Clerk Kim Quist and treasurer Becky Metcalf are also leaving the board.

Allison Ott has filed a petition to seek the clerk job and Bob Walton turned in a petition to serve as treasurer. As of Monday morning, no petitions had been filed for supervisor nor the two trustee seats that will expire, currently held by Chris White and Don Emmons.

Nominating petitions and affidavit of identity forms can be obtained from the Seneca clerk, Kim Quist, by calling 458-7726.
