Three Morenci Area School District alumni will be recognized April 19 at this year’s Morenci Education Foundation Dinner and Auction. Honorees are David Green, class of 1968; Mark Pennington, class of 1973; and Michelle (Grieder) Bovee, class of 1984.

Dinner tickets are on sale for $20 a person or $35 a couple through April 15. Tickets are available at the Board of Education office, Stair Public Library, and the Morenci branch of United Bank & Trust.
The buffet dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., and will include a salad bar, Hawaiian chicken, roast beef, red potatoes, corn, rolls, and a dessert bar.
The Morenci Education Foundation Dinner and Auction is the primary fund raiser for the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund. As a result of last year’s event, seven Morenci Area High School graduates each received $1,000 scholarships.
