Arlene Fay, 85, of Clayton, Mich., died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at home.

She was born Feb. 21, 1923, Lenawee County, Mich., the daughter of Rawlen and Jessie (Saul) Jones.  On Aug. 27, 1944, in Kalamazoo, she married Hal C Fay. He preceded her in death May 23, 1971.

Arlene was a lifelong Lenawee County resident and attended the Tubbs and Weston Schools. She retired from the American Chain & Cable in Adrian after 42 years of service.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Fay) El Anani of Bowling Green, Ohio; a grandson, Adam El Anani of Bowling Green; four sisters, Marjorie (and Wilbur) Schutte of Hudson, Mich., Betty (and Richard) Creger of Clayton, Ruth (and Bud) Bennett of Onsted, Mich., and Donna (and Bob) Bristol of Manitou Beach, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Coral Waterbury and Marian Dickens.

Funeral service are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation on is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of donor’s choice.
