Morenci’s planning commission will meet for a public hearing Feb. 18 to consider a zoning variance. The hearing will begin at 6:45 p.m. before the regular planning commission meeting.

Francis Bell is requesting a variance to allow operation of his tax preparation service from his home located at 816 W. Main St. Bell formerly operated the business from a home on E. Main Street before moving recently to the W. Main address.

A “home occupation” variance would allow Bell to operate a business in a residential area providing only inhabitants of the home are involved in the business and if adequate off-street parking is available.
