The Fayette Medical Center has a physician in place to serve as an interim doctor while a permanent replacement is found for Dr. Music, who left the area last month.

Jennifer Schweitzer-Ahmed, M.D. will provide office and outpatient physician coverage. She received her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, in 1993 and completed her residency at Dayton’s Good Samaritan Family Practice Residency Program. She is board certified by the American Academy of Family Practice.

Dr. Schweitzer-Ahmed is married and has two children. 

Office hours scheduled Monday and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

For other medical needs, the Fayette office will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Laboratory draws will still be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 a.m. until noon.

During the transition period, the Fayette Medical Center along with Fulton County Health Center will continue to pursue a permanent physician for Fayette residents.
