Slocum, Floyd

Floyd Slocum, 71, of Fayette, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Heartland of Wauseon.

He was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Perrysburg, Ohio, to Harold I. and Dorothy B. (Pringle) Slocum.

Floyd worked several years for Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company in Rossford, Ohio, and was a 1954 graduate of Rossford High School.

He was a fisherman, hunter and interpretive Indian dancer.   

Surviving Floyd are two daughters, June Brazier of Phoenix, Ariz., and Robin Leck of Maumee, Ohio; two sons, David Slocum of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dale Slocum of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Slocum of Fayette; three sisters, Lillian Butson, Bonnie Elendt and Sharon Becker; and one brother, Russell Slocum.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold I. Slocum, and half brother, Harold G. Slocum.

Memorial services are scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev. Winston Hatcliff officiating. Visitation is planned from 5 p.m. until the service time Tuesday.
