No brooms?
June 22nd, 2008
At 7:30 this morning, a guy down the block was out with electric leaf blower cleaning his sidewalk of the fallen leaves from the hail storm. I’m not a fan of that loud whining sound. Doesn’t anyone own a broom anymore?

I’ve been protesting McGill University’s use of leaf blowers for years, so far to no avail, but I’m not giving up. Never mind the sound; how “green” can this institution claim to be when it continues to spend fuel to blow leaves around? And don’t get me started about those giant “vacuum cleaners” being driven around by overweight employees who would be healthier having a walk-around with the traditional spiked stick to pick up litter.
So who won the battle of the bands?
