The Snowball Gang

snowball.gang.jpg
A seven-inch-plus snow fell in late March of 1968 and brought out this terror gang from Cawley Road.

Maude Chases’s history column mentions big snows on April 6, one from 1886 and one in 1938. No mention of how deep it was, just “very heavy snow.” It happens from time to time. George Isobar spoke of one in the paper this week: a precise 8.2 inches in 1982.

One Response to “The Snowball Gang”

I vividly remember the terrorist activity in this neighborhood! I’m certain Teresa and I were already at our homes, in tears, after having been the latest victoms of the “Cawley Road Terror Gang”. Tom was a real good shot with a snowball. Kim wasn’t much of a threat (you can tell by the shape of the snowball in her hand) but she wore a pretty coat, and Ted was always there to make a fashion statement. Are those hats still in style?
    Thanks for the memories.
